The Difference between Sin and Evil

Having cause to ponder it, and looking for the wisdom of words from others who have thought, before, I found this very apt quote from the article I'll reference, below:

Evil is also sin, but there's a difference. Evil is intentional. Sin harms, evil seeks to harm. Sin misses the mark, evil doesn't even aim at the target. Lack of consideration for others is sin; lying about others maliciously is evil.

That about hits the nail on the head, for me.  I was looking for something that spoke to my gut sense of it, and this is it.

The context [in my life] was that I was struggling to put a definition on the particular quality of certain people's acts, with regard to me - and in the past, to others.  Acts that were not just (mere) selfishness, or 'incidentally' detrimental to their target...but utterly annihilating, destroying; and known wrongs...done with complete knowledge, and intent.  With knowledge of their consequences, for the victims.

Evil.

James 5:1-6

Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing you.

Long time

So then.

I fell off my blog and the world turned 'round without me.

I didn't quite catch up with the globe in the same spot as I left it, so much as the aliens were courteous & kind enough to plunk me down, there, after having retrieved me from being adrift in space.

However..........

It may be the same spot, but I swear it is not the same world.  I swear I think they knocked me out and gave me some kind of hallucinogenic drug before they set me down, because I've returned to find everything is altered.

I remember having a job, and I think liking it (roughly)...and things were kind of looking up and I had good prospects, too.

I have 'woken up' (returned to my life): 1) in hiding from criminals; 2) prospectively jobless; and 3) in a place where reality, justice, law, and rationality have no meaning.  Is there anything more to determine than that I must be in the Twilight Zone?

I have no way of purging this unreality from my life but for a plea to my God.  During the most insane times of my life, He has been the one undrifting, never-wavering Reality.

...I call on You now...

again

It was a dark time for the Rebellion...

It's been a rather 'low' season, for me.  It started with having to not get my Seeker Season 1 DVD, as I posted, last entry...then it expanded into financial horror-show time, for several weeks...with close family also in financial straits and possibly needing me to help them out and/or even seek lodging with me...and before this was over, it blossomed into a cornucopia of caca at my job--complete with doings & goings on which, I kid you not, mirrored (and still continues to) the ageless battle of Good against Evil itself.

(Didn't I say 'I kid you not'???  It's been heinous.  Stop giggling!)

But...
the people walking in darkness have seen a great light...

Maybe not yet a great light, at this time...but definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.  A teensy one...distant and far-off; but, pretty cool, if it really is what it looks like it is.

Further updates as events warrant.

Oh, and:  I did get my Seeker Season 1 DVD--at Christmas.  Good ol' Dad with the Christmas money!  :D
